The virtual exhibition Medicine in World War I has been created by Yale University Library. This exhibition aims at giving an overall picture with documents of the role of medicine during the First World War. Thus not only the developments in surgery to heal wounds come into view, but also the impact of diseases, and not only the influenza pandemic of 1918. There is attention for diseases such as trench fever and poisoining by gas, and also for nursing and the psychological impact of fighting.
