The virtual exhibition Bezet Brussel 1914-1918 [Occupied Brussels 1914-1918] shows the Belgian capital during the First World War. This virtual exhibition is the companion to an exhibition created by the municipal archives of Brussels. In 1914 the German army invaded and occupied a large part of Belgium. The online exhibition is organized around themes such as daily life, food, work, news about the front and propaganda, official publications and remembrance. There is a useful timeline and a selection of other Belgian and Flemish websites concerning the First World War.The website can be viewed in Dutch. French and English.
The exhibition will be held at the City Museum from August 21, 2014 to May 3, 2015.
